2023: Now Is Buhari's Turn To Support Tinubu's Ambition — Ondo Monarchs

2023: Now Is Buhari's Turn To Support Tinubu's Ambition —

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a prominent traditional ruler in Ondo State, Abodi of Ikaleland, Oba George Faduyile has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and all northerners to reciprocate the support given by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Stwarlert, Bola Tinubu to ensure the emergence of Buhari as the president of Nigeria in 2015.

The Monarch who stated this when he received the South-West Agenda (SWAGA) delegation in his palace at Ikoya, Okitipupa Local Council, alongside other monarchs from the area on Tuesday said now is the time for the northerners to support Tinubu's 2023 ambition

The delegation visited the palaces of Abodi, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Victor Kiladejo and the elder statesman and leader of the socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in his Akure residence.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in Ikaleland, Oba Faduyile, who said Tinubu had done a lot for Nigeria and Nigerians irrespective of the geopolitical zone, noted that leadership is a major problem of Nigeria.

Faduyile who said Tinubu is capable to be President of the country noted that it would be wicked and saddening if the northerners would support another person against Tinubu, stressing that the former Lagos State governor is a reasonable leader who can rule the country.

He said, “Tinubu has been supporting President Muhammad Buhari and the North for years, now is the time for the North and Buhari to reciprocate the good political gesture and support him.”

According to him, no traditional ruler in the six states of the South-West geo-political zone would contradict the candidature of Tinubu, adding that the merger between the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) made Buhari presidency possible.

“If Tinubu becomes the president, he would do for Nigeria what he did for Lagos in terms of political arrangement and economy of Nigeria.

“We all knew what Lagos was before he became the governor. We knew what it is now and what his political sagacity had done to Lagos.

“Tinubu had produced many leaders for Lagos after me. If he becomes the president, Nigeria’s leadership problem would be solved because there would be a proper succession plan.

“Now, it is the turn of the North to support Tinubu; it will be very sad if North sponsor anybody from South-east region. It is incumbent on the North to reciprocate what Tinubu did for them,” he stated.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Works and Co-ordinator of SWAGA, Dayo Adeyeye, reiterated that it was imperative for Yoruba people to speak in unison ahead of the 2023 presidential election to produce Buhari’s successor.

He said that the only way the South-West could get it right was to support Tinubu.

Receiving the SWAGA delegation in his palace, Kiladejo said it was important for all politicians in the South-West, especially the Yoruba, to shun enmity and discord among themselves to achieve the ambition.
