2023 Oscars: Tems Won For Africa — DJ Switch

Nigerian disc jockey DJ Switch has expressed her admiration for singer Tems after her appearance at the 2023 Oscars ceremony.

In a tweet, DJ Switch praised Tems, saying; “Tems gave and nothing remain… she gaved! What??????!!!!! ?? Beautiful, elegant!”

“DJ Switch went on to describe her excitement at seeing Tems, saying; “When I spotted her, I shine teeth like say I dey with my dentist.”

Despite losing out on the award for Best Original Song, DJ Switch commended Tems for representing Africa; “you won for Africa, just by the acknowledgment/work alone self.”

Concluding her tweet, DJ Switch wished Tems all the best in her career.

Tems was nominated for her work on the song ‘Lift Me Up’ from the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which was performed by Rihanna.

The award for Best Original Song ultimately went to ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film ‘RRR’, composed by MM Keeravani.
