Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has received endorsement from elder statesman and a leader in the South-South, Chief Edwin Clark.
Clark made his endorsement known at a media briefing in his residence in Abuja on Tuesday.
The nonagenarian revealed that his support of Obi followed a thorough examination of the latter's plan for the country by his forum, the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).
According to Clark, Obi's pathway to sustainable development is commendable as is his desire to carry the people of the Niger Delta along in his governance.
Speaking further, he stated that Nigeria must remain a nation with equal opportunity for all citizens irrespective of tribe and religion.
Clark added that the youth would benefit the most from Obi's administration should he become elected in 2023.
He opined that a southerner ruling the country would give true meaning to the former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon's mantra after the civil war, "no victor, no vanquished".
