The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has chosen Doyin Okupe as his pick for the vice-presidential position of the party ahead of the 2023 election.
The news was disclosed by Arise TV and it was revealed that Okupe was chosen in a placeholder capacity to beat the INEC Friday, June 17 deadline.
It was previously reported that the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu selected Kabir Ibrahim Masari as his running mate in order to meet up with the deadline.
Speaking after he was chosen by Peter Obi, Okupe told Peoples Gazette on Friday: "Yes, I am the vice-presidential candidate of our party because I was found worthy by the candidate and the party to serve."
