In the last 48 hours, Labour Party (LP)’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, divided public opinions regarding his presidential candidacy after visiting Governor Nyesom Wike and showing up in Benue State.
On his visit to Benue, he promised Nigerians that he will try and reduce poverty and suffering ravaging the country if voted into power in 2023.
The two-term Anambra state governor made the vow while addressing his supporters on Friday in Gboko Local Government Area, Benue adding that the rate of poverty and suffering in the country is too much to be desired.
He said he is the only candidate who guarantees optimum delivery if elected.
“Vote for those people who know you and know your pains.
"Next year please, vote for the right persons. We want a Benue where children will be in school and everything will be normal,” he added.
The Labour Party presidential candidate had earlier joined the much talked about Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday in Port Harcourt, where the latter pledged to offer logistics support for his campaigns in the running of the 2023 presidential election.
According to the Wike, Peter Obi is “a very humble man” that has the qualities to govern Nigeria.
In return, Obi solicited Wike’s support to win Rivers state so that he would help the governor to bring forth Wike’s anointed candidate.
The exchanges of conversation between Wike and Obi in the state capital at the venue of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover inauguration generated a lot of fascinating talking points on social media.
Unarguably, Wike has remained a wild card going to the 2023 presidential election.
He has dined with different calibres of opposition and has been firm with his demands within his party, the peoples Democratic party PDP.
Governor Nyesom Wike will provide all necessary logistics needed for Peter Obi to campaign in Rivers State.

Obi should not bother about funds. Just fix a date and notify Governor Nyesom Wike.
Wike has endorsed Peter Obi for President. He told him today in Rivers state that he will take care of whatever logistics he needs when the Labour Party comes to campaign in Rivers state.

That Wike said he was going to offer logistic support to Peter Obi breathed hope that the LP candidate is going to win in Rivers State, one of the cornerstones of voting population in Nigeria.
Some critics have used the opportunity to lash out at Obi, alleging that he displaced the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Rivers state, Beatrice Itubor to support PDP candidate Siminialayi Fubara who is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Peter Obi called PDP’s candidate in Rivers state, “incoming governor” at the expense of his Party’s flag bearer, and Labour Party members won’t call it “Anti-Party”

ObiDENTs say PDP is a bad party, Peter Obi went to Rivers State to campaign for the PDP.

Blood is thicker than water?
I hope the Labour Party heard what Peter Obi said in Port Harcourt about the PDP and its gubernatorial candidate. Obi asked Rivers residents to vote PDP for Governor and vote him for President. You see, Obi does not care about Labour. He cares only about himself!#TableShaker

Some also added that Peter Obi’s inadequate understanding of contemporary politics made him “commit such a blunder” because Governor Wike had invited stakeholders from other parties to his state more than once and none of them endorsed his anointed successor.
Peter Obi threw women under the bus in Rivers state today. Beatrice Itubo is the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate in the state, yet he told his supporters to vote Wike's candidate. Such utterances are unfair and discouraging.
