The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has chided the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai over his recent statement on Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
El-Rufai had compared Obi to a Nollywood actor during a Journalists’ Hangout on TVC on Thursday, emphasising that the former Anambra State governor could not go far in the upcoming election.
Reacting to the remark, AGN via an official statement posted on its Instagram account blasted the governor, calling him "diminutive" while referring to his comment as derogatory.

The body took offence to El-Rufai's comparison of Obi to actors in the industry, saying El-Rufai's statement is condescending of a public office holder.
"The statement is intended to belittle and demean the intellectual capacity of an actor.
"Using actors to make sarcastic examples of an unintelligent person is arrogant and condescending of a public office holder.
"...Nollywood actors have in no small way projected the image of our dear country positively...", part of the statement reads.
