Making this disclosure in a statement by his media aide Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan who discarded the rumor revealed that he had no intention to join the ruling APC or contest in the 2023 Presidential election.
According to Jonathan, the APC governors' visit was to celebrate him and not for any political party affair.
“PDP governors also visited him; it was not only APC governors. Governor Bala Muhammad was there. They visited him as a father and statesman to celebrate with him; it was not a political party affair.
“Anything you are hearing about 2023 is a rumour and we don’t have time to be responding to rumours; the former president is a very busy person to be listening to rumours,” the statement read.
It will be recalled that AllNews had on Saturday reported on the meeting between the former president who is a chieftain of the PDP and the leadership of the APC.
Leading the APC governors on the visit to the former president's house in Abuja was the governor of Yobe state and the chairman of APC Caretaker Committee and the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
Reacting to the development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement said that the visit was an indication that it (PDP) was the solution to the problem brought upon the country by President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration.
