2023 Presidency: NCCL Pledges To Buy Nomination Form For Yah

The North Central Coalition for Leadership (NCCL) has publicly declared its intention to purchase the All Progressive Party (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Governor Yahaya Bello if he decides to contest for the 2023 presidential election.

The National Coordinator of the pro-youth group, Williams Charles revealed the intention of the group while speaking to journalists on Thursday evening.

Williams said that the resolve of the group is for Yahaya Bello, a youth from North Central to emerge victorious if he seeks the office of president.

He said, “Our reason for embarking on this project is based on the gross marginalization of North Central in the democratic leadership of this great country and the relegation of youth to the background of leadership at the presidential level.

“At a time we seem more divided than united, What Nigeria Needs at the moment are security and unification. Gov. Yahaya Bello has continued to prove that he has all it takes to deliver security and unify Nigeria together.

“It is for this reason that we have decided to pull resources together using crowdfunding, via our online website to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Gov. Yahaya Bello when he presents himself to our party members; to be chosen as its candidate for the 2023 presidential election.”

Correspondingly, AllNews had also reported that the Niger State House of Assembly endorsed the presidential bid of the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello to become the next President of Nigeria come 2023, stating that it is the turn of North Central to produce the next president.

The state lawmakers who disclosed this on Thursday said the House took the decision when the 25-member Kogi State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Matthew Kolawole Olusola, paid an advocacy visit to solicit the support of the Niger House for the candidature of Bello as President in 2023.

Following the advocacy visit, the lawmakers present resolved to support the governor’s 2023 ambition, saying the North Central has been sidelined since the return of democracy in 1999.

The members, who urged all the six North Central states to cue behind the ambition of Yahaya Bello for 2023, noted that as a young and vibrant governor, and with the “not too young to rule bill” already assented to by President Buhari, Bello remains the best candidate for the number one position in 2023.
