2023 Presidency: Peter Obi Files Petition At Election Tribunal

2023 Presidency: Peter Obi Files Petition At Election Tribun

All is set for the legal battle for the 2023 presidency as Labour Party's flag bearer Peter Obi has officially filed a petition challenging the process leading to the outcome of the election.

The development was revealed by the Chief Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, Dr Yunusa Tanko.

As revealed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the 2023 election produced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner, with Obi emerging in third position behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While announcing the move by the former Anambra governor, Tanko added that the process of "reclaiming the people's mandate" has begun.

“It is official the Labor Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja.

“The process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started”, he stated.

The President-elect recently called the election credible and fair, saying that the honour of the victory has fallen on him.

Speaking in a statement last Thursday, Tinubu disclosed that he has set his mind on leading the nation and is committed to getting the job done for the benefit of the citizens.
