2023: Presidential Seat Not For Novices – PDP

The Deputy Director Administration of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, Abiodun Oladipo, has said that the presidential seat is not where politicians will go and start learning on the job; rather, a trusted hand such as Atiku Abubakar is fit for the role because he is not a novice.

Oladipo disclosed this shortly after receiving three groups on behalf of Atiku who declared their support to the PDP presidential candidate at the party’s campaign headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

The former National Secretary of the PDP noted that the presidential flag bearer isn't feeling entitled but is determined to serve with his last straw.

He added that the PDP presidential candidate had promised to return Nigeria to where it belongs with his five-point policy document's professional and patriotic implementation, a promise he would not jeopardise.

“The villa is not an apprentice workshop where you can go and start learning on the job.

"It is a workplace of a serious business, and Atiku means business”, he assured.

He also welcomed the new followers of the party “ with great enthusiasm and gratitude” on behalf of  Atiku, Okowa (Atiku’s running mate) and Iyorchia Ayu (the party’s embattled national chairman).

“I want to assure you that Atiku has promised to pursue the five-point agenda religiously, and Nigeria will be a great country again.

"Let me say it clearly that Atiku Abubakar is not contesting this election just because he wants to be president; he is contesting because he loves this country”, he added.

Unlike some other candidates, Oladipo remarked that his principal, Atiku, does not possess an entitlement mentality but is mentally and potentially equipped to give Nigeria its first taste of good governance.

The groups represented by their leaders were the Northern Intellectuals Forum led by Muhammed Abubakar, the Association of Skilled and Vocational Artisans of Nigeria led by Comrade Ozeomena Pepple, and Uzama Osagie led Voters Club of Nigeria.
