The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has responded following reports by some outlets that there was a meeting between its leader, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
According to the reports, the meeting took place some days ago at the Redemption Camp where Pastor Adeboye was said to have supported the former Lagos State Governor's 2023 ambition.
Reacting, the RCCG via a statement obtained by AllNews Nigeria refuted the claims, stating that its leader would never speak on behalf of Christians on such issues.
It added that Pastor Adeboye and the church have not and would not endorse any candidate for the 2023 elections in the country and that the news circulating on the internet is false.
"Pastor E. A, Adeboye and the RCCG have not and will not endorse any candidate for the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria.
"The news reported by Daily Post is false. Daily Post and other news outlets should desist from spreading false information about Pastor E. A. Adeboye and the RCCG...", part of the statement reads.
