A former Governor of Niger State and the Chairman of the Presidential Committee Council of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has assured that public universities would no longer go on strike if the party is elected into power in 2023.
Aliyu gave this assurance following his inauguration along with other members at the PDP State Secretariat in Minna.
The former governor decried the incessant industrial actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) under the current administration.
“Under the PDP government, schools can never be allowed to go on strike and even the issue of insecurity that is ravaging our nation would be tackled head-on," he said.
Aliyu further condemned the state of insecurity in the nation.
The Chairman promised to work with other members of the party to achieve success, assuring that Atiku's win would reflect in the state governorship elections.
“We are one, and most of us know that if Atiku wins the Presidential elections then it will reflect in the state governorship elections.
“Please go up there and work as if you will never die. Let’s always remember that it is our efforts that will give us the result so that we can prove to Nigerlites that PDP is what can deliver the people,” Aliyu added.
