2023: Tinubu Solicits Traditional Rulers' Support

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says traditional institutions are necessary for any meaningful societal development.

Represented by the APC Vice Presidential Candidate Senator, Kashim Shettima, Tinubu made the statement when he paid a homage to the Emirs of Gaya, Rano and Karaye in their palaces respectively to solicit for their prayers and support.

He said the traditional rulers have value and should be accorded respect for their role in community development.

The APC presidential flag bearer pledged to provide agricultural support farmers, as well as enhance economic development, peace and security in the country.

He also sought support towards ensuring the victory of Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Alh Murtala Sule Garo for consolidation and continuity of development in the state.

Tinubu also commended the APC supporters in Kano for turning out enmass during the recent Presidential rally held in the State.

"I have never witnessed a mammoth crowd like that", he said.

On his part, the Deputy Governor and APC Gubernatorial Candidate Dr Nasiru Gawuna said the visit was to interact with the Emirs.

In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Hassan Musa Fagge on Friday, Gawuna assured that his administration would continue to maintain the dignity, respect and relate closely with the Emirate Councils in the State.

In their separate remarks the Emir's of Gaya Aliyu Ibrahim, that of Rano Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa and Karaye Emir Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II thanked the presidential candidate for the visit and urged the electorates to themselves in a peaceful manner during the general election period.
