2023 Trace Awards: Davido, Rema, Burna Boy Emerge As Winners

The 2023 Trace Awards held in Kigali, Rwanda witnessed Rema and Davido emerging as the top winners of the night, marking a spectacular celebration of African and Afro-influenced music.

The Trace Awards, a newly established awards franchise by Trace, a global TV and multimedia platform, aims to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of African and Afro-influenced musicians across Africa and the African diasporas.

Rema secured two prestigious awards. His global hit ‘Calm Down’ was crowned as the Song of the Year, while he also shared the title of Best Global African Artiste with Nomcebo.

Davido also clinched two awards at the ceremony. He was honoured as the Best Male artiste and triumphed in the Best Collaboration category for his track ‘Unavailable’, a collaboration with Musa Keys.

Another notable winner of the evening was Burna Boy, who was recognised with the Album of the Year award for ‘Love Damini’.

Asake also took home the award  for ‘Best Artiste Africa’

The 2023 Trace Awards provided an electrifying atmosphere with performances by approximately 50 African and Afro-inspired artistes from around the globe.

The star-studded lineup included musical luminaries such as Davido, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, and Diamond Platnumz, who graced the stage with their sensational performances.
