Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has disclosed that he was offered a senatorial position when he met the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in London, UK.
Wike made the revelation while chatting with journalists on Friday with the aim of addressing the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He state that his intention of contesting the presidential primary was so he could emerge as the candidate of his party and not to purchase a senatorial ticket.
He added that he rejected the offer from the former Lagos State Governor.
“I didn’t contest so I can become a vice presidential candidate.
“I am not like others who were not serious and bought senatorial form alongside presidential form, and that’s why when Tinubu offered me senate slot, I didn’t go for it", Wike shared.
