The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has received Borno traditional rulers who visited to congratulate him on his re-election.
The traditional rulers visited under the Council of Borno Emirs led by the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Umar Garbai Elkanemi.
The delegation was made up of the Shehu of Dikwa, the Shehu of Bama, the Emir of Biu, the Emir of Askira, the Emir of Gwoza, the Emir of Shani and the Emir of Uba.
Speaking on Wednesday on behalf of the traditional council, the Shehu of Borno described the win as a victory for the people of Borno, stressing that Zulum’s re-election was a testimony of his track record in the last three and half years.
This was disclosed in a statement by Malam Isa Gusau, spokesperson to the governor.
In a related development, the governor also received the Borno Elders Forum, who also visited to congratulate the governor.
The chairman of the forum, Alhaji Gambo Gubio said the governor's achievement is appropriated by all the people of the state.
“Everyone in Borno appreciates your achievements that is why we are here to congratulate you over the victory.
"You have a track record that we want to see continue," he said.
The governor who appreciated the delegations separately assured that he would not let them down.
