Nigeria's Edose Ibadin missed out on a semifinal place in the men's 800m repetage race on Thursday.
The Nigerian record holder finished in 7th place in one of the Repetage heats with a disappointing time of 1:49.09.
The race and sole ticket to the semifinals was won by Botswana's Kethobogile Haingura with the automatic qualification time of 1:45:52.
Ibadin, born in the United States, also finished 7th at the 2018 African Championships.
He competed at the 2017 World Championships, the 2019 African Games and the 2019 World Championships without reaching the final.
His personal best time is 1:44.65 minutes, achieved in Washington, D.C. in July 2023 and is the current Nigerian record.
Ibadin however represented Nigeria in the 4x100m relay at the 2023 African Games held in Accra, Ghana, March 8-23, 2024.
