The USA followed up their impressive win over Germany in Group B and beat Australia 2-1 in their final Group B game of the women's football tournament of the 2024 Olympics, Wednesday evening, in Marseille.
Emma Hayes' team were dominant from the start of the game and the pressure they put on the Ausies paid off with two minutes to the half time break.
Trinity Rodman prodded the ball home to give the Yankees a deserved lead and the lead was doubled with 13 minutes to the end of the game when substitute, Korbin Albert, drove home a powerful shot from 25 yards.
Australia got a consolation at the end as Alanna Kennedy got them on the scoreboard but the Americans defended stoutly and saw out the game.
USA will play against who beat Nigeria 3-1 on Wednesday at 4pm Nigerian time on Saturday.
