Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde aka Omosexy, a screen goddess with 25 years in showbiz, is arguably one of the most beautiful women in the Nigerian movie industry, despite birthing four grown-up kids.

Apart from being an actress, she is a singer, philanthropist and an ex-model who cannot but turn heads wherever she goes. 

Since the wee hours of Monday, the actress who has for the past few days been following some of her fans on Twitter, has sent the internet on fire with stunning photos to celebrate the anniversary with captions that centre on her achievements.

The Ondo descent made her debut in 1995 after she accompanied a friend to an audition. She played a lead role in the movie Venom of Justice, directed by Reginald Ebere.

In her recent interview, the 42-year-old actress stated that the industry was nothing to be proud of in 26 to 27 years, but she is grateful for the growth.

Omosexy has appeared in over 300 films and has received numerous high-profile awards. She has also been severally applauded for her remarkable humanitarian efforts.

Married to a pilot, Matthew Ekeinde, the screen diva is one of the pioneers of the video film era of Nigerian cinema, becoming one of the most-watched actresses in Africa.

In the year 2013, she alongside Michelle Obama, Beyonce and others were honoured in Times Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

In the year 2014, she was honoured by the Nigerian government as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) for her contributions to Nigerian cinema.

She is notable for her role in “Mortal Inheritance 1995 where she played a sickle-cell patient. The film is regarded as one of Nigeria's best movies ever.

Omotola, who is arguably considered Africa's biggest box office actress, received her first cinematic movie role in the year (2010) with the film “Ije” shot in Jos and the United States. The blockbuster movie was the highest-grossing Nollywood film at the time

On her music career, Omosexy in 2012, launched a debut album titled 'Gba' and a second album titled 'Me, Myself and Eyes' featuring Harrysong and Uche in different singles.

She was the first Nigerian celebrity to start her own reality show, she launched “The Real Me”  in 2012 on Africa Magic Entertainment, M-net Subsidiary broadcast on DStv.

In 2015, Omosexy became an ambassador for a United Nations WFP (World Food Program) going to missions in Sierra- Leone and Liberia, as a result of her philanthropic efforts.

Achievements Since 25 Years Of Being In Limelight

Her hard work has undoubtedly taken her places with several feats and recognitions both in the entertainment industry and her philanthropy.

In 1997, she won Best Actress English and Best Actress Overall in The Movie Awards (THEMA)

In 2004, she won the City People Awards for Excellence for the best actress category. The same year, she won the best actress and grand achiever in Global Excellence Recognition Awards. The Best Individual & Symbol of Creativity from the Civil Enlightenment Organization of Nigeria (CEON)

In 2005, she won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 1st Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA)

In 2006, she won the category for Most friendly Actress in Youths Benefactor's Award.

In 2011, she won the Best Actress-Africa Collaboration in Ghana movie awards.

In 2012, Omosexy made CNN’s list of world’s 12 sexiest accents, ranking number 5 on the list.

She also won numerous awards the same year, such as: Actress of the Year for “Ties that bind” in Eloy awards, Pan African Best Actress in screen nation awards, Film Actress Icon in Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards (BEFFTA) and GIAMA Humanitarian Award in 2012 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards.

In 2013, she was listed among the most influential people in the world by Time magazine.

On 5 November (2013), Omotola was honoured with the Ebony Vanguard Award at the Music Video and Screen Awards (MVISA) held in Birmingham.

In November same year, she was honoured with a chieftaincy title by Oba Victor Kiladejo, the Royal King of Ondo Kingdom.

The mother of four also won the Popular Online Choice in 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards and Ebony Vanguard Award and Music Video and Screen Awards (MVISA)

In 2015, she was listed among the highest-grossing movie stars one has ever heard of; This listing was compiled and researched by Yahoo.

In 2016, she won the Female Entertainment Personality category of the City People Social Media Awards, same year she won the best actress categories of the Nollywood Travel Film Festival and Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.

In 2018, she won the Best Actress in a Movie/TV Series category of the Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards (AMVCA)
