3 Arrested for Beheading 9-Year-Old In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested three suspects, including a herbalist for the beheading of a 9 old schoolboy, named Destiny Peter in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesman for the state police command, disclosed this in a statement Friday. He said the boy’s dismembered body had been recovered and his remains deposited in a mortuary.

The Police spokesman declared,” The trio of Kenneth Sylvanus, 24 years, Chibuzor Amadi, 33 years, and Chijioke Ogbonnah, a 37 years herbalist has been arrested for the death of the 9-year-old. On 11 November 2021, the 9-year-old was declared missing by his aunt, and the recovery of the headless body was found in the bush. Through intelligence gathering, the trio was arrested and taken in and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.”

“The suspects led the police to the bush where the dismembered head of the deceased was seen behind an uncompleted building. Sylvanus, 24 years, confessed to killing the boy and Ogbonnah, the 37 years old herbalist asked to bring the human head for him to buy."

The state police command has appealed to the state for calm times and promised to bring the culprits to justice.
