3 Die, Houses Burnt In Fresh Attack On Katsina Community

Suspected bandits have invaded Matseri Village of Sheme Ward, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing no lesser than three persons and burning houses.

AllNews understands the attack occurred on Saturday evening, with bandits burning animals and foodstuffs.

According to a source, the bandits arrived by 7pm on motorcycles with guns.

“They came about 7:00pm on Saturday on motorcycles. The bandits laid siege to the village, shooting and destroying anything they sighted,” the source said.

This comes barely three weeks after not less than 200 gunmen attacked 6 villages in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina, using sophisticated weapons.

The invaded villages include Dutse maizane, Garin Goje, Tsugunni, Salihawar Duba, Yandaka, Watangadiya.

It was reported that the attacks on the villages happened simultaneously.
