An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 40-year-old ex-convict, Saheed Isola, to 12 months imprisonment for stealing block mould.
AllNews gathered that Isola was sentenced to community service in 2019, for stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Abiodun Fagboyinbo, had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence at Lameco area in Osogbo on October 14, 2020, around 5:00 am.
According to Fagboyinbo, the convict unlawfully entered a shop and stole 9 inches of block mould worth N40,000 and 6 inches of block mould valued at N30,000, all belonging to one Moshood Ishola.
The prosecutor held that the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Section 413 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2020.
The convict, who had no legal representation, pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
However, the presiding Magistrate, Opeyemi Badmus, convicted and sentenced Ishola to 12 months in prison without an option of a fine.
