4,000 Civil Servants To Be Promoted In Lagos

The Civil Service Commission in Lagos State has revealed that 4,000 civil servants across different grade levels and cadres in the state will be promoted to the next grade level this year.

The Chairman of the Commission, Olubunmi Fabamwo, disclosed this while speaking at the Year 2023 Promotion Exercise Revised Structure Training Programme for eligible civil servants for 2023 promotion between grade levels 6 and 10 on Wednesday at Alausa, Ikeja.

According to Fabamwo, the training, which is one of the requirements for the promotion of eligible officers, hopes to expose and prepare the officers for the responsibilities in the next grade level.

“We want to look at cross-cutting issues across all cadres and disciplines. We want our officers to have global knowledge about issues that will affect their performance on their jobs in addition to being very knowledgeable about their various professions,” Fabamwo said.

She also stated that different innovations were being introduced to the annual promotion exercise to ensure that officers awaiting promotion have the required knowledge, expertise and capability to perform their duties effectively and in line with their job descriptions.

She urged the promoted staff to be reliable and dedicated in their duties and reciprocate the good gesture of the state government while explaining the payments that come with the new expected grade levels.
