The Ugandan Police have killed five people who they claim have ties to Tuesday’s suicide bombings in the country.
Four of the men were killed in a shootout near the border with Congo and the fifth man was killed in a violent confrontation with security forces in his home.
After the explosions that happened on Tuesday which killed four civilians, the Police carried out raids today, Thursday and brought in a total of 21 suspects with alleged links to the blasts that happened.
One of the attacks happened near the parliamentary building and the second was near a police station. And the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the explosions. The group was established by in the 1990s and once staged deadly attacks on the country, including a 1998 attack which killed 80 students.
