5 Ways To Make Your Phone Charge Faster

5 Ways To Make Your Phone Charge Faster

The constant usage of a phone in this time and age need not be over-emphasized. There is a constant and unending need to communicate with our loved ones and colleagues, not forgetting the sending and receiving of information.

Nancy Colier's article in The New York Times notes that people operate their phones 150 times a day or every six minutes. Also, in a survey, 46% of Smartphone users admit to not being able to live without their mobile devices; therefore, the need to keep the battery on for as long as possible becomes very crucial.

Not downplaying the various ways of conserving your battery, find below the six most effective ways you should adopt to make your phone charge faster

Making Your Phones Charge Faster

1. Turn on the Airplane Mode

One of the most effective ways to make your phone charge faster is to switch your phone to Airplane Mode before connecting your charger to the socket as this will shut off your cell phone's connections to the cellular, Bluetooth, radio, and WiFi services that can use up power even when your device is not in use. When a phone is on Airplane Mode, it will use less power, which will allow it to charge much faster.

Therefore, if you are a user of Android or iOS, turn on "Airplane mode" then click on "Settings" on your phone. Select "Airplane Mode", and slide the toggle to "On". A "small airplane icon" will appear at the top of your phone’s screen. Note that switching to Airplane mode will deprive you of making or receiving calls or texts, or use data or GPS until you go back to your phone’s normal settings, but the mode will also help charge your phone much faster.

2. Use a Wall Charger

Always make sure you charge your phone battery with "official wall chargers" that came packaged with your smartphone. Unlike the USB ports on your laptops and computer, wall chargers have a stronger amp output. Chargers produced by your phone’s manufacturer work better than cheaper, third-party imitation.

Although wireless charging is very convenient, it is not the best option for faster phone charging. Sometimes it is most convenient to plug your phone into the USB port on your laptop, but the power output from a USB port is much lower. Therefore, this will significantly slow down the rate of the charge.

You can also get two "male" USB connectors and one micro USB connector which can enable you to charge a single device using the power from two USB ports at the same time. If you are an iPhone user and have a newer model Macbook or iMac at home, your Apple product will automatically recognize your iPhone when it is connected. This will increase the output to your phone to speed up charging.

3. Keep Your Phone at Low Temperature

Avoid your phone from being around too much heat as smartphones work more effectively and efficiently when in cool temperature. Too much heat on the phone can damage the phone's internals along with the battery.

Therefore, keep your phone away from anything that might increase the temperature of your phone while charging. If your phone is making use of a phone case, you might need to remove it for a while for it to get some air to cool it down.

4. Use Fast Battery Chargers

Sometimes, your phone's official charger may not be as fast as you expect. You can make use of some original chargers that are compatible with your phone. Some very fast charging accessories include HTC'S Rapid Charger or Samsung's Fast Charging pad. It is interesting to note that most new high-end phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note20 or the iPhone 11 have fast-charging capabilities. However, note that not all phones are compatible with all fast chargers, so ensure you get one that works well with your phone.

Many smartphone battery chargers have about 1.4 times charging speed of standard models, but most times, the fuller the charging gets, the slower it gets to 100%. It is essential to slow down charging speed to about 75% capacity so as to prevent damage to your device. Although it is safe to use, charging your cell phone faster will heat it up much more than a standard wall charger.

5. Turn Your Phone Off

You can also turn off your phone while charging to help speed up the charging. This is quite possible as the phone is not in use. This option may not be suitable though, as you won't be able to use your phone while it is off. That is, you won't be able to receive texts, alerts, calls, listening to music, playing games, etc, but it is worth it, as you will have much time to use your phone when you eventually put it on.

BE WARNED!

The use of fake chargers in this part of the world is quite prevalent. Some fake chargers have the ability to cause electrocutions and overheating. So, avoid using them at all and stick with approved chargers by your cell phone’s manufacturer.
