53-Year-Old Man Arrested For Murder In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Sunday Amaefula of No 8 Akpaku Lane, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State for stabbing one Chibuike Nwanne to death.

According to report, Amaefula, a 53-year-old man, was arrested on February 22, 2021, at about 12:30 am.

Investigation revealed that the deceased had an altercation with a neighbor (one Ifaenyi Emmanuel) who happens to be the suspect’s brother. Unfortunately, things escalated to the point where the suspect stabbed the deceased with a bottle, resulting in his death.

Further information revealed that the deceased who was 43 years old only just got married last year. He is survived by his pregnant wife.

In addition, the Police has arrested two suspected armed robbers around the Alakara area of Lagos State on February 22, 2021, around 5:30 pm. The Divisional Police Officer of Alakara Command and his men on patrol intercepted two men on Okada and after a search was conducted on them, 2 brand new Beretta pistols, 3 magazines, and 22 live ammunition were recovered.

During interrogation, the suspects, Mojeed Satan and Kudaisi Ajetumobi could not give a satisfactory explanation on their means of livelihood.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to State Criminal Investigations Department for proper investigation.

The commissioner in a statement assured the good people of Lagos State of adequate security of lives and property and reiterated the commitment of the command towards ridding the state of hoodlums and criminals.
