68 Dead In Ecuador's Prison Gang Fight

Not less than 68 inmates of Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest prison have been Reported killed in a gun battle between rival gangs in the facility.

The prison gangs associated with drug cartels Saturday fought and had the country’s worst prison bloodbath as the fight lasting almost eight hours.

Police authorities said the inmates were armed with guns and explosives and also burned mattresses to drown their rivals in smoke.

It was also claimed that there were dead bodies which burnt.

Guayaquil jail is not new to violence. In September, the country recorded a battle among drug cartels in prison that led to the killing of 118 people. Over 15 were beheaded. This year alone, more than 300 prisoners have been reported dead in prison gang clashes across the South American country.
