8 Dead, Several Injured In Iraq Flood

At least 8 people have been killed and several others injured after heavy rains caused flooding in the Kurdish region of Iraq.

It was gathered that women and children were among those killed after the heavy rain destroyed a lot of houses.

The flood caused many people to leave their homes and searches are ongoing to find missing persons.

Buses, trucks and tankers were washed away by the storm, while 7 persons were killed by the storm waters and lightning.

Iranians have been victims of extreme weather conditions with repeated experiences of storms in recent years.

They have been adviced to stay at home, warning that further rain accompanied by flood may reoccur.
