80 Per cent Israelis Want PM Netanyahu To Take Responsibility For Hamas Attacks — Poll

80 Per cent Israelis Want PM Netanyahu To Take Responsibilit

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

A recent opinion poll conducted by Israeli daily Maariv has revealed a significant shift in public sentiment regarding key political and security matters in the region.

The survey, carried out on October 18 and 19 by the Lazar Institute in collaboration with Panel4All, encompassed 510 respondents, shedding light on pressing issues.

The poll's most striking revelation is that 65 per cent of Israelis expressed their support for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip. This substantial majority signifies a notable shift in public opinion regarding Israel's approach to the region's ongoing conflict.

While 21 per cent opposed such an operation, the data underscores a growing sentiment that favours a more assertive stance.

A staggering 80 per cent of respondents believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should take responsibility for the failures that contributed to the Hamas attacks.

Surprisingly, this sentiment transcends political boundaries, with 69 per cent of Likud party voters from last year's election holding Netanyahu accountable. Only 8 per cent of the general public expressed a contrary view.
