9mobile Launches 9TV In Lagos

To offer Nigerians top-notch, stress-relieving entertainment, telecommunications company 9mobile has launched its cutting-edge online entertainment platform, 9TV.

Pre-paid and hybrid 9mobile members could view their preferred films, TV series, children's programming, and live events on the move through 9TV, a one-stop entertainment portal.

This was said by Kenechukwu Okonkwo, Director of Product Innovation and Business Development at 9mobile, at the formal launch of 9TV on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to Okonkwo, 9TV is a special platform that offers customers engaging material on a variety of smart devices and aids them in staying up to date with occurrences on smartphones and tablets.

He said that 9TV offers a variety of content, including movies, which would be divided into genres including children's, blockbusters, most-watched, and new releases.

Okonkwo also mentioned that 9TV will be a subscription-based service and that users would receive excellent value for their money.

“We are happy to be introducing this new entertainment platform for the delight of our subscribers.

"9TV will offer unlimited relaxation with quality entertainment content at prices that they can afford.

“9TV offers free-to-air local and international channels, video-on-demand, reality shows, and live events streaming, all at affordable rates.

"Subscriptions for 9TV range from N50 to N2,500 depending on the subscriber’s choice.

“Apart from having all the major features and services that a media and entertainment app should have, it allows users to watch whatever they want/like at their convenience.

“9TV’s ‘Timeshift’ feature on Live TV allows users to watch their favourite programmes with pause, rewind, and forward functionalities.

“The ‘Catch-Up’ feature will enable users to watch programmes after they have been broadcast, or users who have missed a live broadcast will be able to view it on demand,” he said.

Okonkwo added that the 9TV app's "my downloads" function allows users to watch and download their preferred movies, which they could then watch at a later time.

“The downloaded movies would be available to users to view whenever they wanted, even with ‘No Network Coverage’ or when the device is on ‘Airplane Mode’.

“Another unique offering on 9TV is Liv.9ja. This on-demand live entertainment streaming section allows users to watch live concerts, interviews, parties, and similar events," he explained.
