Abba Kyari: Kemi Olunloyo Reacts To Buhari's CoS Death

Following Friday's announcement of the death of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Muhammadu Buhari, social media personality, Kemi Olunloyo, on Saturday morning conveyed her condolences to the bereaved associates.

Allnews recalls that on April 2, some Nigerians on Twitter had reacted with vilifications to a claim by Olunloyo that a high-ranking member of President Buhari’s cabinet died from Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) complications.

Olunloyo made the claim on her known Twitter handle.

The president’s right-hand man on March 24 tested positive for COVID-19.

Olunloyo also shared the screenshot of a post made by Adetutu Balogun, a blogger, to establish her claim, adding that the “death announcement” would soon be made by the government.

“#BREAKING A HIGH RANKING member of President Buhari’s Cabinet has died of #coronavirus #covid19 complications. I will give the feds the honour of announcing it. U cannot hide it like Yar’Adua. I am not telling because I value NATIONAL SECURITY OF NIGERIA,” Olunloyo had tweeted.

But a day after she made the posts, Olunloyo made a U-turn asking Nigerians to desist from wishing other people dead.

“Please STOP wishing others DEAD. I use to do that a lot in America. Let God take our lives, not one lame-ass disease,” she tweeted at that time.

Still and all, when confirmed news came on Friday evening regarding Kyari's exit, many Twitter users hailed her 'reportage'.

And now, reacting to the Nigerian politician's demise, Olunloyo ask The Almighty to forgive his sins.

Kyari was an influential figure within the Buhari administration.

The deceased had widely been seen as one of the three most powerful people in Africa’s largest economy and said to have the complete trust of Buhari.

Some had even described him as the de facto head of the government because in a country where the presidency holds an inordinate amount of centralized power and government funds, deciding who has access to the president accords immense power and influence.
