The Nigerian Police Commission (PSC) has called for a fresh investigation on DCP Abba Kyari while rejecting the submitted report.
The report was to ascertain the connection between the former head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari and one Abbas Raymon, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
The PSC attributed the rejection to lack of thorough investigation.
The PSC further directed the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba to set up another committee to carry out the investigation and make the report available in two weeks.
The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) had advised that the loopholes in the report be checked and worked upon.
DCP Abba Kyari had been linked to a fraud of $1.1million which Hushpuppi and four others were indicted for in the US.
This had called for the suspension of Kyari and a committee set to probe his involvement.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), had alleged that accounts which Hushpuppi had paid $20,600 in 2020 were provided by Kyari.
Since the submission of the report in 2021, the Force PRO, CP Frank Mba had said the result will be made available to the public after proper checks.
