Abba Kyari: Witness Reveals How He Paid Bribe To Clear Hard

The fifth prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari on Thursday revealed how he bribed security agents with the sum of N10,000 at the Enugu International Airport for clearance of hard drugs.

Led by the prosecution counsel, Sunday Joseph, the witness named Emeka Ezenwanne informed the court that he brought cocaine from Brazil through the Ethiopian Airline and how the contents were later tampered with.

He added that N10,000 was taken from him as a bribe to aid in bringing packs of cocaine sent to him.

While being cross-examined by Dr Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), Ezenwanne disclosed that he brought cocaine into the country twice.

During the times that happened, he said he was neither intercepted nor stopped by security agents.

“At the Enugu Airport, I saw NCDC officials and Immigration agents. I also met two men that took my passport and directed me to a table for searching.

“I was asked to give money to the people that will search my bag. So I gave them N10, 000 and they cleared me”, he said.

Speaking further, the witness stated that he had no interactions with the first defendant, Kyari.
