  • UPDATE 1: 6.00am February 22, 2021
  •  Abducted Kagara students and teachers are yet to regain freedom, the Niger State Government has said.

This is contrary to news that was reported earlier.

It had been reported late Sunday night that the captives have been freed. Sources had reported that they were on their way to the government house to be received by the governor, Sanni Bello amd other officials.

But during a briefing late Sunday night, the Bello had dismissed the news as rumours.

“We still have the students of Kagara in the hands of the bandits and everything is being done to secure their release soonest,” the governor said.
