Abduction: Wife, Daughters Of  Zamfara Lecturer Released Aft

The kidnapped wife and daughters of a lecturer with the Federal College of Education, Gusau, Zamfara State, have been released after paying N10 million ransom.

The wife of Dr. Abdurrazak Muazu, Binta Umar Jabaka, and her two daughters, Maryam Abdurrazak and Hafsat Abdurrazak were kidnapped around 1 am, from their house in Mareri village, Gusau on January 1, 2022.

A family member of the victims disclosed that they were released in the early hours of Monday.

It was gathered that the bandits who earlier demanded the sum of N50m have later agreed to reduce the ransom to N10 million.

According to PUNCH, one Mohammad Lawal, a staff of the College of Education disclosed that the gunmen entered into Dr. Abdurrazak's house in an attempt to abduct him but he hid in the ceiling when he heard their movements.

“The gunmen jumped over the wall and entered into Dr. Abdurrazak’s residence in order to kidnap him but he escaped through the ceiling”.

“They searched the house for over an hour looking for him, but when they could not see him, they abducted his wife, Binta and his two daughters, Maryam and Hafsat," Lawal narrated.
