Abia University Fires Department Head Over Sex For Mark, Adm

The Abia State University (ABSU) has sacked a senior lecturer, Dr Michael Ukaegbu, for the sex-for-marks offence, reports say.

​​​​The ABSU Council-in-Session ratified the dismal of Ukaegbu, who was a former acting Head, Department of Mass Communication, for involvement in sex-for-marks.

Another lecturer, Leonard Chukwuma was dismissed over admission fraud and racketeering. The notice was signed by the Registrar, Acho Elendu.

It's been said that a disciplinary committee was set up to look into the allegations against the two.

Their sack was ratified by the University’s Council at its 148th regular meetings held on Thursday, and Monday, December 16 and 20, 2021, at the University Council Chamber.
