Abiodun Visits Stray Bullet Victim As Normalcy Returns To Ab

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Wednesday paid a visit to Gabriel Michael who was hit by a stray bullet during Tuesday's protest.

Frustrated residents of Abeokuta had protested the continued fuel and redesigned Naira scarcity on Tuesday.

The angry residents, including bank customers during the protest, damaged the building and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of some banks at Sapon and Asero areas of the Ogun State capital while two of the protesters were reportedly hit by stray bullets.

Speaking with journalists shortly after ascertaining the recovery of the victim who is receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, Abiodun urged the residents of the state not to resort to violence as a result of Naira and fuel scarcity.

He noted that breaking, looting of banks and smashing ATM terminals would not solve the problem.

AllNews Nigeria can authoritavely ascertain that normalcy has returned to Abeokuta after it was rocked by hours of protest by some residents over scarcity of petrol and Naira notes on Tuesday.

Checks on Wednesday morning revealed that police officers have now been deployed on major roads in the state capital, with school pupils and students observed returning to their schools.
