ABU Secures Another Win At Global Student Contest In Romania

The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in Kaduna State has secured another win at the International Student Project Contest in Romania.

The competition was hosted at the University of Life Sciences, King Mihai I, Timisoara in Romania. 

The university was represented by its students, Abubakar Ahmed, Aminu Abubakar Sadiq and Zakariya Saminu, all from the Faculty of Agriculture.

The team emerged winner during the 6th Edition of the contest in the fields of Biology and Agricultural Sciences. 

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Public Affairs Directorate, office of the Vice Chancellor of the institution.

The university had on Saturday won the Innovation Grand Prize at the 2022-2023 Huawei ICT Competition final held in Shenzhen, China. 

"At this year’s Erasmus Competition in Romania, the ABU students presented a topic “Biochar as Way of Ameliorating, Conserving Soils and Source of Renewable Energy in the Section of Management and Conservation of Soil Resources and won. 

"Similarly, another team of students from the University won an European Quiz held in Timisoara. 

"The students, who participated in the quiz are Abubakar Ahmed, from the Department of Agronomy; Mukhtar Sulaiman, Department of Biochemistry; Aisha Abdulqadeer Muhammad, Department of Animal Science, and Nana Hauwa Moru, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine," the statement added.
