ABUAD Tops 2022 Varsity Ranking, Afe Babalola Reacts

Chief Afe Babalola, the Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) has reacted to the excellent position of the university in the 2022 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, revealed on April 27, 2022.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, Babalola expressed in fulfilment at the achievement of the institution.

“The purpose of setting up ABUAD is to prove that individuals can achieve such a feat.

“I have finally achieved my life-long ambition, which is to establish a pace-setting tertiary institution that can compete with the best in the global scene.

“Topping the ranking is an icing on the cake. I am happy that ABUAD has achieved this feat and we will ensure that we remain at the top for many years to come,” Babalola said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ABUAD came first in the ranking, Covenant University, second, and University of Ibadan, third.

The Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC) congratulating the institution said he would make sure more universities make the top 200 in years to come.

“By our Strategic Plan 2022 to 2030, the Nigerian Universities Ranking Advisory Committee (NURAC) will work with all universities in the system to ensure that we are no pushover on the global league table from 2023,” Rasheed said.
