The group of family members of the abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers have denied reports making the rounds since Wednesday that their relations have regained freedom.
There have been reports that the victims, though not clear how many of them were freed from captivity.
In a report, an 85-year-old woman and her daughter were said to be released and were being attended to in a medical facility.
However, in a statement issued by the family members of the abducted passengers and signed by their leaders, Dr AbdulFatai Jimoh and Dr Ba’aba Muhammad respectively on Thursday debunked the report, describing it as false.
Thus, the statement urged the general public to disregard the report.
The group did not however clear if some of the victims, not related to them were released.
Terrorists, suspected to have links with Boko Haram had on March 28 derailed a train in Kaduna from Abuja.
Many were killed, many more injured while others were kidnapped.
