Abuja: Train Crushes Woman To Death

A middle-aged woman met her end on Thursday after she was crushed to death by a passenger train in Abuja.

The train, which was coming from Kaduna to Abuja, crushed the woman to death on the rail track around the Kubwa area.

An eye witness disclosed that the incident occurred about five minutes from the Kubwa Train Station, while the woman who was driving in her private vehicle attempted to cross the rail line as the train was coming at high speed.

The remains of the victim have been evacuated by security personnel while the damaged car was immediately removed from the rail track in order not to cause further accidents.

A spokesperson of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mahmood Yakoob, confirmed the incident but could not provide details at the time of filing this report.
