Adamawa Assembly Confirms First Female Chief Judge, Two Othe

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the first female Chief Judge in the state.

The Chief Judge, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman, was confirmed on Tuesday.

The Assembly also confirmed the appointment of Hon. Ibrahim Wakili Sudi as Grand Khadi Sharia Court of Appeal and Hon. Audu James Balami as the President, the Customary Court of Appeal. 

The confirmation followed the consideration of a letter forwarded to the Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the state to confirm the three persons. 

The letter was read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas. 

The trio were recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

Upon presentation of the letter, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo moved for the confirmation as requested.

The governor who forwarded their names for the confirmation received accolades from the Members representing Numan, Verre, Guyuk and Demsa.

The Speaker further directed the clerk to intimate the governor of the resolution of the House.
