Adamawa: Fintiri's media aides highlight governor's achievem

The media aides to Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri highlighted his achievements in the 2024 first quarter to journalists in Yola, the state capital.

The highlights were given during a media parley which brought stakeholders and pressmen in the media industry together on Saturday.

The event was hosted by the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, George Kushi at the command guest house in Yola.

Addressing participants, Kushi said: "The idea of the parley was a way to keep the press and the populace abreast with current activities of government."

He explained that contrary to the allegation that governors elected for a second term usually renege on promises of embarking on projects, Governor Fintiri has held his end of the bargain with continuous project implementation.

He listed some of the projects by the Fintiri-led administration, including "the construction of super highway, the road links at Bajabure, payment of gratuities, the empowerment programmes, the remodelling of the shopping complex, payment of WAEC fees amongst many as ongoing projects that have a direct bearing on the common man."

The event was also attended by the Chief of Staff, (Dr) Edgar Amos who was represented by (Dr) Adamu Babikoi, the Governor's Special Adviser on Good Governance.

Meanwhile on his part, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Neido Geoffrey gave the assurance that the Fintiri administration remains open to answering questions from the media and public.

Muhammad B. Tukur, the governor's New Media aide made this known in a statement on Saturday.

The statement partly reads: "The Special Adviser to the governor on Communications and Strategy, Dr John Ngamsa explained the government's role in tackling issues of climate change and the drive towards tackling insecurity as well as the efforts of the Fintiri led administration toward sustainable wealth creation and good governance.

"The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou highlighted more of the government's poise to achieve its eight-point agenda.

"He further revealed the intention of Governor Fintiri to maintain the pace in developing until every sector is touched where everyone in the state will benefit."
