Adamawa First Lady Empowers 500 Women Traders

The wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri has empowered 500 women traders in Hildi Market of Hong local government area of the state. 

The first lady visited the women today (Tuesday) as part of her effort to boost bussinesses in the state through her project, the Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation (FAPEF).

Fintiri further stated that her husband, the governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured of working towards empowering women and young people to boost economic activities in the state.

She explained that her program was aimed at empowering women to become "Independent and self reliant" while targeting youths and women at the grassroots.

She also called on the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the funds to increase their profit margin.

"I always understand women’s promises, and I am committed to supporting my husband's administration in reducing poverty among women in accordance with the global sustainable goals."

She further disclosed that her belief in women empowerment "will improve living standards and the economy in society.”

Fintiri further appealed to the people of Hong to continue to support her husband towards achieving a second term as governor come 2023 elections. 

In his remark, the Chairman of Hong LGA, Hon. Usman Inuwa Waganda expressed joy over the First Lady's gesture, adding that it was the first of its kind in the LGA.

As contained in a statement by the First Lady's aide, Ishaya Bitrus, one Eglah Felix who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries said the gesture was appreciated and their support for the governor was unshakable.
