Adamawa Government Bans Motorcycles In Two Local Governments

The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has banned the usage of motorcycles in two local government areas of the state.

The affected areas include Mbamba, Youde Pate and Ngurore communities of Yola South; Viniklang and Federal Housing Estate of Girei Local government areas.

The restriction in Girei is from 5 pm to 5 am.

This was made available to newsmen by the media aide of the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou.

Wonosikou stated that the measure was taken by the government to curb growing security challenges in the areas.

The statement added that threat that criminals pose to the state would not be left unattained.

“They have become a threat to the peace, wellbeing, security and stability of the state’s political and economic systems, as well as their effect on continuous development which must be effectively curtailed,” read the statement.

The statement further warned that those who go against the ban will face the music of the law.

It added that only essential workers and those seeking medical attention are exempted from the ban.
