Adamawa: Kwandi Nunguraya commends Fintiri over agribusiness

The traditional ruler of Guyuk in Adamawa State, HRH Kwandi Nunguraya, Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda II has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his effort in enhancing agribusinesses.

The traditional ruler also assured of his support to the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) in line with Governor Fintiri's drive for enhanced business opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The Kwandi Nunguraya made this known on Tuesday when he hosted a delegation from the ADAS-P at his palace in Guyuk Local Government Area of the state.

He also lauded the foresight of the governor in introducing the ADAS-P in the state, adding that the programme will help the state achieve food security.

He further urged the state government through the ADAS-P to "act in time to enable farmers to properly enjoy the support."

In his earlier remark, the leader of the delegation, Dr Ahmed Garba appreciated the Royal Father for the warm reception and urged him to support the programme to succeed.

He emphasized the need to have the support of the traditional institutions in the area to enable the ADAS-P to identify genuine farmers who will enjoy the government's support, hence avoiding past mistakes of supporting fake farmers.

As contained in a statement on Tuesday by Muhammad B. Tukur, Senior New Media aide to Governor Fintiri, Garba revealed that "plans have been completed to capture farmers and farmlands to create a digital and standard agricultural database for the state."

On his part, Ibrahim Yaro, the Director of the State Chieftaincy appealed to stakeholders, including district and village heads to support the programme for the benefit of all.
