Adamu Garba Demands $1billion From Twitter Founder Amid Court Absence

Adamu Garba Demands $1billion From Twitter Founder Amid Cour

Adamu Garba, the founder of social media app, Crowwe, failed to show up at the court hearing of his lawsuit earlier today, but he is demanding $1 billion from Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey. Recall Garba had sued Dorsey for tweeting in support of EndSARS protest in Nigeria. He has now given an update to his absence in court.

The hearing of the lawsuit held on Wednesday, and according to lawyer, Tope Akinyode, Garba failed to present himself in court to table his case.

AllNews gathered that Garba and his lawyers were absent in the Federal High Court, forcing the court to adjourn the court hearing.

Prior to the court date, Garba had accused Dorsey of interfering in Nigeria's internal affairs.

Garba stated that Dorsey abused Nigeria's sovereignty with his public support of the protest.

He threatened to sue Twitter founder for his role.

While reacting to Garba's absence, Akinyode said, "I was at the Federal High Court today to defend Adamu Garba'a lawsuit against @jack and @Twitter. However, @adamugarba & his lawyers failed to show up in Court without given reasons & the Court has now adjourned case to 22nd April, 2021."

Why Garba Was Absent From Court

According to Garba, his absence at the court on Wednesday was because his lawyers received late notice for the court hearing.

Garba said he had to request for adjournment to the case. He further stated that he believes in the court's ability to deliver the right justice.

"Our lawyers got the notice for the hearing pretty late, so we had to request for adjournment to the case which the court graciously granted. Thus the 21st April 2021 date was set. However, we may approach the court to request for an earlier date. Stay tuned. We will win this.

"We will pursue this case to the end. No going back. We will not allow any violation and/or interference in our local political affairs by any foreign actor. This case will serve as a deterrent to anyone who grossly abuse his privilege against our country. Jack must pay.

"We trust in the court ability to deliver the right justice, against violation of our sovereignty, subversion of our peace and collective well-being of Nigeria's security. We therefore, look forward to having Twitter office in Nigeria and $1bn for the victims of #EndSARS protest," Garba said in a statement seen by AllNews.
