The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has delivered judgement in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.
The Court in its verdict set aside the decision of the Osun State Gubernatorial Election Petition Tribunal.
It upheld the governorship of Ademola Adeleke and also awarded the cost to the first and second respondents.
Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 16, 2022, Osun gubernatorial election.
In the Osun Election Petition Tribunal on January 27, 2023, the victory of Adeleke was upturned and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was directed to issue Adegboyega Oyetola with a Certificate of Return as duly elected governor.
However, Adeleke approached the Appeal Court in Abuja which set aside March 24, 2023, as judgement day.
