The Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, has said the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke is not happy with the current WAEC ranking of the state.
Eluwole said the ranking shows that a lot has to be done to improve the sector.
The Commissioner also commended the committee in charge of organising the 2023 Osun education summit for their desire to change the narrative in the sector.
Eluwole while addressing the committee said education is key to the development of any nation as it is important to instill discipline in the lives of the younger generation.
He assured that every policy arrived at by the end of the summit will be considered and accepted by the state as it will be the foundation for repositioning education in the state.
While appreciating the Commissioner, chairman of the summit committee Prof. Oyesoji Aremu said it is important to have policies of education that will be sustainable and achievable.
Prof. Aremu said he is confident that the Adeleke administration has the political will to implement every policy that will come out of the summit.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Murtala Jimoh also appreciated all members of the committee who have taken up the task to help reposition education in the state.
