Adeleke Charges Nigerians As Nigeria Celebrates Independence

The Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has enjoined Nigerians to embrace the nation's diversity as a source of strength and not weakness, noting that Nigeria holds a lot of promises as a united country.

In a personally signed message to congratulate Nigerians on the 62nd Independence anniversary of the country, Adeleke said the journey of the last 62 years has shown that we are good as one irrespective of our differences, calling on Nigerians to explore dialogue and concessions in addressing their grievances.

"Today, we are reminded of the sacrifices that gave us the freedom we now enjoy. 62 years ago, Nigeria escaped the grip of servitude and secured freedom from colonial rule, heralding a vision of a country where we pursue our own dreams.

"It is an important day and I congratulate every Nigerian.

"Independence anniversary is more than just a holiday but a time for us to celebrate the freedom to dream, the tenacity to act, and the assurance that we are a great country if we all contribute our part to nation building.

"Our diversity defines us as a nation, the strength on which we rest, and the power that can be leveraged for greatness, even as we are constantly faced with questions on managing it," the Governor-elect noted.

Adeleke who urged Nigerians to keep hopes alive and pay serious interest in choosing good leadership advised citizens to shun sentiments as they go to the poll next year to elect leaders in various positions open for contest.

"It is right that there are challenges but I can assure you they are not insurmountable.

"This is why Nigerians should ignore sentiments and choose the right leadership in next year's elections to improve their situation," he said.

He reiterated his commitment to deliver good governance to Osun people as he takes office next month, declaring that "just as I have always assured, I will focus on improving the lives of Osun people and make every resource count for their benefits."
